Looking after yourself ensures you can care for women and their babies brilliantly. When we fail to address our own needs we cannot respond to the needs of women and their families effectively. So many times we forget ourselves, but not without consequence.

Finding work increasingly stressful? Want some ideas on how to manage it better?

We are here to help you.

Being with women and feeling comfortable, confident and at ease is becoming harder and harder. Every year more expectations are made of us, more forms, less time, more work, less resources and minimal support. Everyone is stretched and sometimes, overwhelmed. The importance of documentation, multi tasking and constantly making big decisions is tiring and can be difficult to do day after day. Throw in a trauma or an extremely sad situation you are involved with and it becomes harder. Add a serious untoward incident a root cause analysis or a complaint and the work is sometimes impossible.

We are familiar with the manifestations of stress, because we work with them in our work as Hypnotherapists. As Practising Midwives we feel and live with the effects so we know how stressful our work is.

We have created several days where there is a chance to stop, notice and reflect as well as learn a few new  things about how we are at work. See the services page for what suits you best . We can support you to look at your stress, and become aware of its effects on you, in your life. The purpose of this work is to enable you to continue in your job, with some sense of satisfaction at what you can do and being clear about what you can’t. Drawing a line between what you have capacity to do will enable to do the job to the best of your ability in difficult situations.

Everyone needs help to get clear sometimes and we have come to realise through working with groups of Midwives and Student Midwives that stress is becoming more and more prevalent, like the elephant in the room. Sometimes that is unavoidable, but it is possible to get rid of it quickly, not to allow it to linger or infiltrate the rest of your life.

We are here to help you.
